Art In the Everyday

Lots of people have lots of different reactions to art and what art is, what place it has in their lives, or not. And, of course “the arts” casts a wide net. It can be paintings, photography, books, music, crafts too when taken to a refined level.

We at The Bestway Lifestyle are going to put the focus in this blog on the home you live in with a few forays into the fashion we choose. For the home; the design of it, the colors you use within, the furnishings you choose, yep, including what you put on your walls or what you choose to display in your kitchen and how you choose to display it. Whether you realize it or not art really does play a large role in our everyday lives. Even in the fashion we wear — the colors, the types, the patterns, the slogans or logos. Think about the T-shirts we wear, the mugs we choose, the totes, umbrellas or phone covers we carry. We’re forever choosing patterns, designs, and colors that please. All art.

When it comes to ourselves and our homes we shop and we purchase wildly different things; different from each other, and things that are very different depending on their purpose. Our clothes may be classic, but the interior of our homes is wildly colorful. The living room may be subdued but the bath explodes with design and color. The kitchen may be farmhouse, cottage core, but your teen daughter’s room steampunk. Your walls may be decorated with great photographs, another person could be into canvas art prints that are replicas of the past or modern masters, still, another could want a tapestry or some kind of collage. All different and yet all take us, one way or another, to places outside ourselves.

And where do we get our inspiration for all of this? Could be from nature, maybe from something we spot at a friend’s house, ideas from magazines, visits to art galleries, museums, home design galleries or anywhere else we wander.
