Driving The Lying Highway

It is a long journey and fraught.
Lies lie in wait all along.

Some lies smile and soothe.
Some lies sound like truth.
Some lies scream silently.
Some lies kill you outright.
Some lies kill you quietly.
All lies are festering wounds.

Life is a lying, tangled knot
of interlocking deceptions,
like a complicated road system
and you with no GPS.

Some lies want you to stop
and talk with them,
but you put your foot down.

It takes intelligence, wit,
endurance, and cunning
to wend your way through
to the unlikely truth.

Sometimes you think
even the owls are lying.

Do not give up and lie abed.

Make your own map. Keep trying.
