What is Race?

Before this lesson I believed that race did not play a big role, but there is more to it. “The power dynamics go far beyond the level of the individual person, and in particular the social inequalities and indeed violence that are the result of these categories of race are all significant elements of the social worlds in which people live their lives.” Subconsciously, humans have believed in the “superior race”. Today in this world, there are still inequality of power. “Scientific claims of racial difference have never been valid, whilst the idea of race (and its implementation) has been and continues to be a very powerful part of contemporary culture. This has always been an issue since humans have been on this planet. From the time British colonialism to Atlantic slave trade has made the structure of how it is today in modern society.
