A young woman from a wealthy family fell in love with a miller’s son whom her father disapproved of. Bridal showers of today can be small gatherings of close friends and family, to large gatherings. The tradition has become to bring the bride a gift that will be a personal item for herself or something that the couple can enjoy together once they are married. So now we get down to the question — Who hosts the bridal shower? This could be anyone including the bridesmaids, the maid of honor, a member of the family, or even just a group of close friends. The date of the bridal shower should be one that would work best considering the bride’s work schedule or other planned weekly activities she may engage in. This date is recommended to be at least two months before the official wedding day. Themes aren’t always necessary when planning a bridal shower, but consider the bride and her interests before completely ruling it out. Is she a wine fanatic? Or maybe she loves different cultural foods. If either of these holds true, you could consider hosting a shower based on either theme. There is a multitude of options when it comes to choosing a theme, but again, it isn’t always necessary or needed. The bride will surely appreciate the effort, either way.

There are certainly many other things you will need to do when planning for this bridal shower. Some of these include sending out invitations, determining the food menu, beverages, decorations, music, and possibly games because they can be fun!
